The Conference of Online Publishers in Akwa Ibom State (COOPA) is set to usher-in a new Government to steer it's affairs, following the expiration of the current administration's tenure.
The outgoing Chancellor of the Online Publishers, Comrade Ifreke Nseowo said this in a meeting of the Conference on Saturday, August 26, 2023.
Addressing members of the body, he appreciated their support for his administration since it's inception and commended their true followership of him.
Recalling that the group was formed in 2015 and the first Executives elected the same year, he recounted the expiration of that administration in 2019 and the conduct of the second election afterwards, which elapsed in July 2023.
"Our tenure has elapsed and a new leadership should come up", he stated.
Nseowo who made a case for the organization of a week-long event, suggested that the election be made a feature of the event.
"We're looking at having a Capacity Development Seminar and a Media Chat prior to the election so we can refresh our memories of things we may have forgotten in our online publishing business", he said.
While the COOPA week is scheduled for September ending, Nseowo announced the positions of Chancellor, Deputy Chancellor, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer, Financial Secretary, Public Relations Officer and Assistant Public Relations Officer open for members to contest.
He called on the Election Committee, headed by Darlington Udobong to ensure that modalities for the conduct of the election are well spelt out by Monday, August 28, 2023, to enable interested aspirants prepare for the exercise.
